Autumn 2008 forecast

Updated 28 October 2008

Background

This forecast for the remainder of Autumn 2008 has been derived using global forecasting models and statistical methods. Seasonal trends affect large geographic areas, so the forecast for the UK is cast in the broader picture for Europe as a whole.

Forecasts are probabilistic and are expressed as variations from 1971-2000 averages. The remainder of autumn, in this context, refers to the period up to the end of November.
