More heavy rain is expected over the next few days and Met Office forecasters are closely monitoring the development of yet another Atlantic weather system.
Met Office chief forecaster, Richard Young, says: "Wales is expected to see the heaviest rain during the course of Friday and Saturday with up to a further 50 mm possible there."
Despite this, the Environment Agency doesn't expect the current flood situation to worsen. Doug Whitfield, National Flood Warning Duty Officer at the Environment Agency, says: "With relatively dry weather forecast for Thursday and river levels starting to recede, we don’t expect the flood situation to get significantly worse than what we have already seen so far this week."
However, the public are encouraged to keep up to date with latest Met Office forecasts through its website, TV and radio broadcasts, and also flood information from the EA. The Floodline, 0845 988 1188, provides latest information on flood warnings.
Looking a little further ahead, high pressure looks likely to build from the south and bring drier conditions next week.
