Fundraising forecasters
Met Office staff have been donning wetsuits, getting on their bikes and playing hide-and-seek - all to raise money for Children in Need.
Earlier this month, TV forecasters John Hammond and Kirsty McCabe joined their Met Office colleague Richard Duncombe to ride the rapids in an inflatable raft. During three runs down rapids at the British Watersports Centre in Nottingham, all three ended up in the water.
Richard Duncombe, Met Office Operations Manager at the BBC Weather Centre, said: "We purposely asked for a tough session and I was the first to end up in the water – that was because of my position, not my ability, honest. It was great fun and a great way to raise money for such a good cause."
Meanwhile Carol Kirkwood has been practising for her sponsored tandem bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh this morning. Then on Friday night she will be exercising her throat muscles, singing 'Baby It's Cold Outside'.
A variety of activities are taking place at the Met Office headquarters in Exeter, including a Pudsey Bear hide-and-seek and a fete in the Office's 'Street'.
If you are planning to be outside on Children in Need night then you will need to wrap up warm as temperatures across the UK are expected to be close to freezing.
