Brighter bank holiday weather

After the recent cool weather and a summer dominated by rain, Met Office forecasters expect the late summer bank holiday to provide a welcome change.

High pressure is expected to establish across the UK through this week and fine, dry weather is forecast to replace the unsettled conditions so dominant this summer.

Most places will have sunshine from time to time and, with lighter winds, it will feel warmer than of late. Temperatures throughout the weekend of 20 °C to 22 °C are expected across much of the country with 25 °C possible in parts of southern England.

Mike Bedingfield, Marketing Director for VisitBritain said: "The Met Office forecast for fine bank holiday weather provides a great opportunity to get out and visit an outdoor tourist attraction.  Whether you choose to go on a coastal walk or visit a theme park, enjoy the weekend!"
